All Dressed Up

This was the birthday card that I made my girlfriend Amanda who celebrated her birthday last week. Fingers crossed she received it because she has recently moved and I don't have her new address. I hope you had a wonderful day Amanda and were deservedly spoilt!

I've cased this from the Dolled Up Birthday Kits that were available in the last USA catalogue. Since the products are still available here (but not for long), I thought that I'd make up my own. It was quite a process deciding on what to do with the background of the mannequin. After a few attempts, I decided to adhere it directly onto the Fancy Fan embossed piece of card which had been sponged. However, it looked lost so I went around the edges with an aqua pen and some soft suede ink to make it subtly stand out. I was also unsure about the stark whiteness of the doily but on another attempt when I'd sponged it, it was too much. This is final result and I'm quite pleased with it.

Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases, Elements of Style
Card: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Designer Paper: First Edition Speciality
Ink: Black Staz On, Soft Suede, Rose Red, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Paper Doilies, Flower Trim
Tools: Big Shot, Dress Up Framelits Die, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Sponge Dauber, Paper Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

To place an order at any time for any of these products (while stocks last), please email me on debbie.l@orcon.net.nz or phone: 09 416 7476

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day :-)

Stampin Up's Collage Curios

This was the card I made for my swap, which I've cased out of the new catalogue. You'll find it on page 24. To be honest, it was a bit fiddly, but was a ton of fun to make and I only had to make four. I only swapped with a few of the WOW PaperKRafters team because when I saw the list of ladies swapping in the big team, I knew that I wouldn't have the time. Very disappointing because there were some amazing swaps made, but it's a sacrifice I have to make since I've returned to full time work in the Airforce {which I am totally loving}!!

There are heaps of lovely products in the Seasonal cattie and if you're an embellishment lover, then there will be lots of yummy goodies that will appeal to you. Aren't the Soda Pop Tops just the cutest things!

Here's what was used to make this card:
Stamp Set: Collage Curios, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock: Basic Grey, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Designer Paper: In Colour 2012-14 Designer Series Paper
Ink: Basic Grey, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Basic Pearls, White Tea Lace paper Doilies, Silver Soda Pop Tops
Tools: 1" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Big Shot, Chevron Textured Impressions EF, Sewing Machine and thread

I'll be back soon to share more creative goodness. Until then, have a fabulous week! :-)

Blackboard Technique

As promised here's another gorgeous card that I received for my birthday - it's from Sally Williams and (I think) she has used the Blackboard technique, which is all the rage at the moment. I haven't spoken to Sally this past week, so I'm not 100% sure. Apologies if I'm incorrect.

Stamp Set: Fabulous Phrases, Bring on the Cake
Card Stock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy
Tools: Heat Tool, Distressing Tool

I don't know how to do this technique so am also unsure about what products were used to make this card. If we're lucky, Sally might enlighten us and then I'll make the appropriate amendments at a later date.

See you back tomorrow with another lovely card that I received.

More French Foliage

I don't know what it is - but I tend to dig out a stamp set that I've not used for ages and then, I can't seem to put it down. Such is the case with French Foliage.  Here are two cards that I've cased from Sue Madex, a talented demonstrator from Australia. These are both clean and simple and didn't take very long at all to make.

This one doesn't have a message on the front, so will be ideal to keep in my emergency stash :)

Stamp Set: French Foliage, Fabulous Phrases
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
InkCherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch.

Happy Friday everyone!  Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you again soon.
