Happiest Birthday Wishes to Nicole!

Today, my oldest daughter is turning 20 years old. Goodness knows where that time has gone (and yes, I know that I say that every year!). While I am so proud of the young lady she has become, I miss the child that she was. As a mother of two beautiful daughters, I often reflect on how fast they are growing up. Nicole has grown up to be a caring and kind young woman and is mature beyond her years. She knows where she's going and how she's going to get there. She'll do well in life and she deserves to, because she is a very hard worker, personable, organised and focused. She has been a joy to raise and I am so very grateful for her, every day of my life! I love my beautiful, green-eyed girl!

Purple is Nicole's favourite colour. I can't believe that I thought it was blue until very recently {embarrassed}.

This card idea was one I saw on Pinterest months ago, so I do apologise as I don't know where the inspiration comes from. If you know, please feel free to comment so I can share the credit  :-)

And, here's what it looks like on the inside. The photos aren't very good and it doesn't show up well, but the "20" is a pop up on a strip of window sheet and has been die cut in silver glimmer paper.

Wedding Day Bliss

This was the card that I made for my friend Mel who was married on Friday. I got the idea in my head that I wanted to do an almost monochromatic card to keep with her colour scheme of black, white and silver. I will admit, this is not exactly what I had in mind but - it was fast and easy! I've seen cards similar in blog land, but made with hearts and I really liked the effect. After embossing the card front with the Designer Frames embossing folder and cutting out some Butterflies with the Beautiful Wings embosslits, adding some pearls and the message and... ta da, it's all done! I'm quite pleased with the result and just wish I could say the same for the photo...

It's a beautiful day here in Auckland and I hope to get outside to enjoy some of it a bit later on. I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun - so be sure to tune back in and I'll see you then!

I've cased this from Linda Gutierrez who is a demonstrator from the States.

Happy Wedding Day

I just thought I'd share a wedding card with you, that I made for a work colleague who was married yesterday. It's almost monochromatic because I've only used two colours - very vanilla and naturals ivory. It's a very plain and simple design and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Stamp set: Priceless, Occasional Quotes
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, Scallop Trim Border punch, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Embossing folder.
