Graduation Day

It was a very busy day for us on Wednesday 17 December as my daughter turned 21 years old and she also graduated from AUT. She received a Communications Degree with a major in Digital Media and a minor in Creative Advertising. The weather did not play the part for us and there was torrential rain for most of the day. Fortunately, this didn't dampen our mood or enthusiasm as we watched Nicole walk across the stage and receive her degree. We're very proud of her as she's worked hard these last three years and achieved awesome results.

This is the card that I made:

I love that little owl and don't use the punch as often as I should..

Stamp: Well Scripted (retired)
Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, Slate Grey, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana
Ink: Coastal Cabana
Tools: Owl Builder Punch, Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots EF, Chevron EF, Piercing Tool and Mat
Accessories: Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Mini Brad,

We've had a busy time of it lately but it's been lots of fun - I love organising parties and celebrations and have enjoyed every minute of Nicole's birthday and graduation. Now that they're over with, we're now able to concentrate on Christmas. We're all going to be down in Palmerston North to be with family. I arrived down on Saturday, Bridgette and Kyla flew down the day before and Nicole arrives on Wednesday. I love the fact that my daughters are spending another Christmas with us. I know the time will eventually come when they'll be with their own families, partners or friends, but for the time being I'm very grateful for time we have together.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy the countdown until the big guy arrives :-)

Bordering on Romance

Bordering on Romance was the stamp set we used at my Feminine Card class yesterday. It's new and from the Autumn Winter mini.  We made two cards and this was my favourite one - a little bit time consuming, but the end result was worth it, in my opinion.  I've cased it from Judy May who is a demonstrator from Melbourne in Australia. Pop over to look at her blog HERE to see more of her beautiful work.

Here's what you'll need to make today's card:

Stamp set: Bordering on Romance, Well Scripted (retired)
Card Stock: Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Black Staz On, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals
Tools: Big Shot, Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies, Framelits Dies Labels Collection, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Embossing Folder, Blender Pen, Extra Large Oval Punch.

Thanks for joining me today. I'll be back again soon for more crafting fun and I hope to see you then.

Counting down...

Only 3 days left until the Summer mini retires and Sale-a-bration (SAB)finishes... There are so many fabulous stamp sets and goodies in the Summer Mini catalogue that I'm sure going to miss. They retire on 31st March although some may make it to the new catalogue (due to be released on 1st Sep) but we don't know which ones, that'll be. I also think that the FREE stamp sets on offer with Sale-a-bration are the best ever. They will no longer be available after the 31st March either, so if you were wanting to get your FREE set, best you order today. You don't want to miss out.

I was inspired by the wonderfully talented Australian demonstrator Jayne Mercer to make this card. There is no such thing as too much bliss...

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Natural Ivory, Early Expresso

Made with Love

This was another Valentines card that I made last week. As you will know, I don't often create something myself and am more of a CASE stamper (copy and share {steal} everything from others) but this card kind of, just evolved.  All I knew, was that I wanted to use the Scallop Envelope Die since it was still sealed up in its little bag {shameful I know}. I'd also had intentions to submit it to last weeks Just Add Ink challenge but once I logged on to their site and saw all the other amazing submissions - I went blog hopping, got waylaid and forgot what I'd set out to do...lol. Does that ever happen to you?

Stamp sets used: I {Heart} Hearts, Well Scripted
Cardstock: Ridinghood Red, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Ink: Ridinghood Red
Designer Paper: Love Letter
Accessories: Scallop Envelope Die, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Chantilly Crochet Trim.

Happy Valentines Day!

Each year I usually make my daughters a little Valentines treat and card - and this year is no exception. The only difference is that this year I've cased the ideas from two very talented demonstrators that I received swaps from at our Stamp Camp.  Here's the treat pouch made by Anna Mathieson which is simple but gorgeous and filled with a peanut slab... Chocolate and Valentines Day go together fabulously, don't you think!

And, this is the lovely swap I received from Bron Heslop. She's used Love Defined and the cute Pinking Hearts border punch (which sadly you can't see in the photo) and some bling! I love everything about this Bron - thanks so much for the inspiration!

I hope you've all been spoilt today!
