Bright Blossoms

I made this card for a lovely colleague from my job at the primary school where I use to work. Lee Lee has worked there for over 20 years and is semi-retiring. I was fortunate enough to be able to sneak away from work today and attend her special morning tea. It was great catching up with lots of familiar faces and it seemed a lifetime ago that I worked there. How quickly we adapt to the changes in our life. Wishing you all the best for your 'semi' retirement Lee Lee.

I'm off to Christchurch tomorrow for the night, which will be tinged with trepidation. I was born in Christchurch and lived there until the grand age of 9 years old. I visited friends and family a lot when I was a teenager and then later on, when I joined the Airforce, so it holds many fond memories for me. Although I've been back a few times since the earthquakes, I haven't ventured any further than the airport, which is still all intact and shows no signs of the devastation. I imagine that it's not going to be pleasant, but is something that I need to do.

Have a GREAT Friday and I'll be back soon!!

Word Play

I've not used the set Word Play very often and I don't know why because it's very versatile and there are some great messages to choose from. Teamed with Betsy's Blossoms, it makes a great little 'Z' fold card. I cased this card from Artistic Inkspirations.

Stampin' Up! New 2012-13 Catalogue Launch!

You've been waiting patiently for the launch of the new Stampin' Up! 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue and the time finally arrived!

I spent a wonderful afternoon today with some lovely ladies who attended my launch. It was really enjoyable and great to catch up with them. We managed to squeeze in a bit of stamping using new products and in-colours too, so all in all - a fabulous day!

Here's the make 'n take everyone made, using Betsy's Blossoms stamp set. Simple, but effective using the new in-colours.

Stamp Set: Betsy's Blossoms, Curly Cute
Card Stock: Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple,
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit

I also baked some shortbread and used the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps which were a big hit. The shortbread was very delicious {if I may say so myself}. It's only the third time I've made shortbread and I couldn't have made it any better, if I'd tried! Blowing my own trumpet here lol ;)  Then, we used the Season of Sweets Designer Kit to wrap the shortbread  in. What a cute kit and great idea! An ideal little treat for your neighbour or postal delivery person.

It's the first day of spring today, but the temperature is probably the lowest it's been all week. We can't complain though as we had a stunning week.

I'm away tomorrow for a course and have scheduled some posts in my absence. Have a wonderful week and I'll see you again real soon!
