Hoppy Easter Every Bunny

I almost forgot to show you the Easter cards that I made my daughters. I usually give them identical cards, but for a change, I didn't this year.

I demonstrated Nicole's card at a recent class. I really like that cute little bunny on the Eggstra Spectacular stamp set (page 32 in the Occasions catalogue). I cased this card from Jenny Peterson

Stamp set: Eggstra Spectacular
Card: Whisper White, Smokey Slate
Designer Paper: Watercolour Wonder
Ink: Black Stampin' Marker, Crushed Curry Stampin' Marker, Smoky Slate Stampin' Marker
Accessories: White Bakers Twine, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Basic Metal Buttons
Tools: 2 ½ Circle Punch

The card I gave Bridgette was in my stash - it's probably a bit young, but Bridgette thought it was cute all the same. The stamp set has retired and I can't for the life of me, remember the name of it.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

25 April - Lest We Forget

ANZAC Day, April 25, is the most important date in New Zealand’s and Australia's calendar. All across NZ and Australia, people turn out to salute, honour and pay their respects to the fallen and to the surviving servicemen who willingly offered their lives to the service of their country. The name ANZAC became famous with the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps on the Gallipoli Peninsula at the Dardanelles, Turkey on the 25th of April 1915.

Off the Grid meets Gorgeous Grunge

Here's a card that I made a friend last month for her birthday. I cased it from Amy O'Neil and had lots of fun making it.

Stamp set: Off the Grid, Six Sided Sampler, Four You, Gorgeous Grunge
Card: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Designer Paper: Modern Medley
Ink: Crushed Curry, Pistachio Pudding, Calypso Coral, Gumball Green, Versamark
Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, In Colour Dahlias, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, White Bakers Twine, Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon
Tools: Heat Gun, Hexagon Punch

How is your Easter shaping up? I've had a lovely weekend so far - on Friday I went to the movies with my daughters (we saw The Other Woman, which was a hoot!), met a girlfriend for dinner and then she had a sleepover at mine on Saturday night and am meeting up with another girlfriend this afternoon for coffee and a catch up. In between the socialising I've been having a big tidy up around the house. The only thing that I haven't managed to achieve is some crafting. I just might have to remedy that...

Have a happy Easter Monday everyone!

Tag a Bag Accessory Kit

I decorated this little bag for Bridgette for her birthday and put some gift vouchers inside, just for something a little different. Initially I was going to decorate a Tag a Bag Gift Bag (page 158 AC), but found I didn't actually have any. However, I do have three Tag a Bag Accessory Kits... lol. Don'task me how that happened. Fortunately I found this coloured bag and although it's a bit smaller than I would have liked, it served its purpose and Bridgette loved it. Truth be known, she probably loved what was inside the bag, more than the bag itself ;-)

The Tag a Bag Accessory kit (page 158 AC) is very good value for money. For only $16.95 you receive 10 large base tags, 10 medium builder tags, 10 mini clothes pegs, 5 smoky slate self adhesive strips, 40 dimensionals and 3 colours of baker's twine (6.1m each). It coordinates with the Tag a Bag Gift Bags (only $8.50) or the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes ($14.50). Or, as shown above, you can coordinate it with whatever you have in your stash.

Stamp: Short and Sweet (retired)
Ink: Gumball Green
Accessories: Tag a Bag Accessory Kit, Non Stampin' Up! Paper Bag, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tools: Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch

I hope you have a wonderful and safe Easter and partake in a choccie or two. I made a wee start on my chocolate binge last night...

Starburst Sayings and Flower Shop Birthday

As promised, here's the birthday card that I made my youngest daughter Bridgette, who turned 18 years young, last Sunday.

I thoroughly enjoyed making her this Card in a Box. These are fun to make and have been doing the rounds for the last few months. It took me longer than usual because Bridgette doesn't have a favourite colour, so I was left to my own devices. I'm not very decisive at the best of times, so after trying a few different combinations, I settled on Sweet Sorbet Designer paper (unfortunately, it's no longer available) and the coordinating colours that go withit.

It looks better in real life and Bridgette loved it. She loves flowers too, so it was an easy decision on the embellishments.

And, here's a close up of the flowers - all from Flower Shop.

Stamp set: Starburst Sayings, Flower Shop
Card: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Summer Starfruit, Silver Glimmer Paper
Designer Series Paper: Sweet Sorbet (2014 SAB retired)
Ink: Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Tools: Pansy Punch, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Small Heart, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Big Shot, Starburst Framelits Die, Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die

One of our family traditions is to do a treasure hunt. Even though Bridgette turned 18, I wasn't going to let her miss it. I think I enjoy the treasure hunts more than the girls do - but I don't care - it's my thing I like to do.  And, if it means receiving another few gifts, they're happy to oblige. I'm thinking that for their next birthday, I might do a scavenger hunt to mix it up a bit.

I was lucky enough to be able to spend most of the day with Bridgette for her birthday which I loved!! It's always a bit of a juggling act, because I have to share my girls with their Dad, friends and boyfriends (now they're older). We had a lovely day and managed to squeeze in a bit of shopping, had a manicure and our eyebrows and lashes tinted and shaped. The time went too fast and before we knew it, the day was over for another year.

Stampin' Up! Label Love

I made this card a while ago for no particular reason, other than I really liked the look of it. I've been meaning to post it for ages. I've cased it from Mindy Backes. Check out her blog HERE. I much prefer her card with the distressed edges and sanded Alphabet Press embossing folder.

Stamp set: Label Love, Dictionary
Card: Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Soho Subway
Ink: Crumb Cake, Island Indigo
Accessories: Natural Trim
Tools: Big Shot, Alphabet Press EF, Artisan Label Punch

Have you been devouring the television and keeping an eye on the Royal Tour? Some of the more senior girls in my office have had the privilege of flying the Duke and Duchess (and baby George) from Sydney on Monday and will be flying them around the country for the duration of the tour. My little claim to fame is that I made the menus for the flights, using Stampin' Up! products of course. I hope they appreciate the excellent quality ;-)  Anyway, it's all very exciting and apparently they are even more lovely and down to earth, in real life.

Pop back again soon, to see the birthday card that I've made my baby girl Bridgette, who is turning 18 years young on Sunday. Don't ask me where that time has gone?!

Have a wonderful weekend peeps!!

Love and Sympathy

I've had to make a few sympathy cards lately - too many for my liking. I find words are always hard to come by, so hopefully the cards might bring some comfort to my friends who have lost their loved ones.

I forgot to photograph two of the cards, but here's the third one I made. I've cased it from Jo Dumbleton, who is a demo in the UK. It was very queasy (quick and easy) to make, which can be helpful at times like this.

Stamp set: Love and Sympathy
Card: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewel
Tools: Small Heart Punch

Hope your week is shaping up nicely :-)
