Shadow Box Card

This was the lovely project that Karen and Sally demonstrated to us at the Extravaganza. The original design for this shadow box card was from Jenny Moors. My favourite part of this project was colouring in the flowers and cutting them out. There is something that I find very therapeutic about colouring and cutting...

Ink: Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Stazon Black

Cute Gift Bag and Notecard

Isn't this little gift bag and card cute?  This is another of the projects we made on Saturday. You can fill the bag with lots of different things - chocolates (that would be my first choice), home baking (a close second) or bath salts, like we did. You're really only limited by your imagination.  I love how we used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out the front and make the window. Very cool and so easy!!

Please excuse the lopsidedness of my bag - it got a bit squashed on the ride home and doesn't  want to sit up properly.

These are what we used to make this project:
Stamp Set: Short and Sweet, Pocket Silhouettes
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
Ink: Ridinghood Red
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Mini Brad, Window Sheets
Tools: Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits (Autumn Winter mini Catalogue), Boho Blossom Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Little Leaves Die, Designer Frames Embossing Folder.

I'd be happy to order any of these items for you and can have them delivered to your home anywhere in New Zealand.  To place your order, just send me an email or give me a call on (021) 260 6680

Have a happy day!

Awesome Extravaganza!

This was one of the projects that I got to make yesterday at the Creative Inkers Extravaganza.  It was an awesome day and I loved all five projects we made.  I decided to go to the Extravaganza as a treat because I'd finished (and successfully passed) the ground phase of my training.....well, for the time being at least.  The ideas that the demo's came up with were so impressive. You really ought to book in and come along to the next one.  I promise that you won't be disappointed.

Stamp Set: Music Notes Stampin' Wheel
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Pool Party
Designer Paper: Attic Boutique
Ink: Soft Suede
Accessories: Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Antique Brad, Neutrals Brad
Tools: Big Shot, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Little Leaves Die, Colour Spritzer Tool, Elegant Bird Die (Autumn Winter mini catalogue), Flower Fancy Punch, Mixed Bunch Punch (Autumn Winter mini catalogue).

In case you were wondering, I didn't end up going to the team training last weekend and even though I had my bag packed and ready to go, I changed my mind at the last minute. I  decided that it was more important that I stayed home to study and I'm really pleased I did.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and have taken some time out for yourself. I'm away on Monday for a week, but have scheduled a few posts during this time, so do pop back again soon!

Bringing Baby

This was a card that I made for a friend, whose daughter had her first little baby in April. I had the present all wrapped and ready but it was the card that held up the works. No excuses except that I couldn't decide what I wanted to make and then had to find the time to make it. I've cased this from Teneale Williams (a demo from Australia) whose work I really admire.

Stamp Set: Bringing Baby and Petite Pairs
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pool Party
Ink: Black Staz On, Pool Party, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Linen Thread
Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder

Have you got much planned for your weekend? I'll be doing lots of study as have a test on Monday and another on Wednesday. I'm over this study lark and I can't wait to put it behind me - well, for this part anyway. There is always ongoing training and courses but at least I'll have the first box ticked, very soon.

We also have Team training tomorrow for the Creative Inkers. These events are always fun and it's an awesome day organised by Jacque. I've paid to go to and really want to, but I'm not sure that I can afford the time. Decisions, decisions... Maybe if I get a good couple of hours study in tonight, tomorrow night and all day Sunday as well. A girl deserves a break every now and again doesn't she??  I'll let you know what I decide. In the meantime - have a GREAT weekend and keep warm!!

Notably Ornate

These are one of the little Thank You cards my customers will receive from me this month, if they place an order with me. I've cased this from one of my favourite demonstrators in the UK - Crafting Clare.

Ink: Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Early Expresso
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearl

It's a nice short week here in New Zealand after celebrating Her Majesty's birthday on Monday. Queen Elizabeth's birthday is actually on 21 April, but her coronation took place on 2 June in 1953, so I think that must have something to do with New Zealand observing her birthday on the first Monday in June.  Whatever the reason, I'm not complaining and love these short working weeks.

Artistic Etchings Faux Patina Technique

Just a quick post today as I've got lots of study to catch up on. I started my new job last Monday and then felt unwell from Tuesday night until Sunday, so have really fallen behind. Yay, for the long weekend though so at least I had a bit of a chance to catch up.

This was the second card we made at the Faux Patina technique class a week or two ago and it was inspired from the talented Claire Daly.

Stamp set: Artistic Etchings
Card Stock: Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
Designer Paper: Subtles Collection Pattern Paper Stack
Ink: Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, Always Artichoke Seam Binding Ribbon, Antique Brad,
Tools: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Heat Tool, Designer Frames Embossing Folder.

This is a very cool technique and it is easy peasy to do. You can make so many different colour combinations, you just have to experiment. I got my info from Angie Leach and you can check out her blog HERE. Angie used the Versamark pad for her final stage, but I chose to use the Versamark pen so I could be more specific about where the gold embossing went.  I'm a little bit fussy like that :-) I would love to see  what you make, if you decide to give it a go.

Enjoy the rest of your week my lovelies!!
