How's your week been?  Are you as happy as I am, that tomorrow is Friday?  My brain has been on overload this past week and it's been a bit of a struggle not to curl up and have a nana nap each day when I get home from work. I'm sure I'll get use to it but for the time being, I'm exhausted and am in bed before 10pm each night. For those of you who know me, would know that this is unheard of, because I'm usually such a night owl.

It's Queen's Birthday this weekend, so we've got Monday off. Yay - bring on a sleep in or two, I say!  Hope you have a good one!

For those of you who follow my blog - you will know that I have returned to full time employment and yesterday was my first day back in the Airforce (after an 11 year absence).  It went really well and I was being a silly goose, getting all nervous. There are still quite a few familiar faces from when I served the first time, so that made everything easier. I know that I'm going to love it, once I'm back into the the swing of things.

Have a GREAT day!!

Faux Patina Technique

I had two very enjoyable classes recently with my lovely ladies, making two cards using the Faux Petina technique.  It's amazing how different each card looked even though we used the same technique. That's the beauty of hand made cards - each one is as individual as the person making them.

Supplies used to make this card:

Stamp Set: En Francais, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ink: Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Brad, Linen Thread,
Tools: Heat Tool, Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Little Leaves  Sizzlits Die, Sponges.

I'd be delighted to order any of these supplies for you and I can have them delivered to your address anywhere in New Zealand. I'm committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to offer help and advice. To place your order, just email me here or call me on (09) 416 7476.

It's my first day in my new (but old) job today. I'll be the new (but old) girl starting back in the Airforce, after 11 years.  I must admit that I'm feeling a tad nervous but am sure I'll be fine once I get the first day over with.

Have a wonderful week and I'll see you soon.

Faux Patina Technique

As promised, here's a sneak peak at what we'll be doing at class tonight (and a repeat class on Sunday at 2pm). We're creating the Faux Patina technique to create a beautiful background for two projects.

According to the Urban Dictionary, Patina is the term that antique collectors and appraisers use to describe rust or age on an old object, to try to increase its value.

Email me HERE if you want to come along, as there are still some spaces available.

More Nature Walk

Here's another card we made at my last class that was part of the Natures Walk boxed set. Remember, I told you that I purchased the tutorial from the wonderfully talented Jenny Moors, so this is totally cased from her collection.  There was nothing difficult about this card, but I think there is enough detail to make it interesting and I love the muted Autumn colours.

Stamp Set: Nature Walk, Curly Cute
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Old Olive
Designer Paper: Botanical (retired)
Ink:
Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive, Stampin' Markers
Tools: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, 3.2cm Square Punch (to make flags on message)

Pop back tomorrow and I'll show you a sneak peak at what we're making at my Technique class tomorrow night.  There is still time to come along too, if you're interested. Email me HERE.

I hope you are enjoying your day and creating something fantastic!

Beautiful Butterflies

This was the gorgeous card we made at Jacque's training on Saturday.  We stamped the flower from the Just Believe stamp set onto the butterflies with Versamark then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. It gives the butterflies extra depth and is a great look. We also sponged over the area where the card was embossed with Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.

You will notice that my message is crooked and my embossing isn't as deep as it should be because I didn't have the correct tab when I ran it through the Big Shot. That's what happens when you are too chatty and not paying attention to what you should be doing. Anyway, it's my sample card so is allowed to be a bit wonky and out of sorts.

Stamp Set: Loving Thoughts (Autumn Winter mini catalogue), Just Believe
Card Stock: Tangerine Tango, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Designer Paper: Paisley Petals
Ink: Soft Suede,Versamark
Accessories: Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Chantilly Crochet Trim, Basic Pearls, White Embossing Powder
Tools: Big Shot, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Sponge, Heal Tool, Embossing Buddy

I haven't had lunch yet and can't ignore the rumbling in my stomach any longer. I hope your Monday is going well!

Another Sympathy Card

This is the second sympathy card I made last week. It's always sad to have to do, but at the same time, it lets the recipient know that you're thinking of them.

To make this card, I've used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

Stamp Set: Just Believe, Curly Cute
Card Stock: Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red
Designer Paper: In Colour Patterns Designer Paper Stack
Ink: Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Rose Red Stampin' Markers
Accessories: In Colour Glimmer Brads, Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon
Tools: Eyelet Border Punch

If you want to order any of these to make your own card, please contact me HERE. I can have your order delivered directly to you, anywhere in New Zealand.

I think it's actually warmer outside than in, today. I'm sitting here shivering over my computer and am going to have to put another layer of clothing on and make a cuppa to warm up.  I feel the cold a lot more as I get older and am not looking forward to winter one little bit.

Customer Thank You cards

I always like to include a little card with my customer's orders, as a small token of my appreciation. This was the one I made for them this week, which I have cased from Crafting Clare in the UK. These multi coloured cards are surprisingly quick and easy to make, using marker pens. The most important part is to 'huff' on the stamp to moisten the ink before stamping.

Have you tried tying a ribbon with the seam binding ribbon?  It is without a doubt, the easiest ribbon to work with and my bows always turn out pretty good the very first time. Sometimes they might get a bit wrinkled in the process, but hey - what's a few wrinkles between friends??

Stamp Set: Thoughts and Prayers, Thank You Kindly
Card Stock: Very Vanilla
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Pear Pizzazz and Chocolate Chip Stampin' Markers, Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Ribbon

You can buy any of these supplies from me and I can have them delivered to your address anywhere in New Zealand.  Contact me here or phone me on (09) 416 7476 to place your order.

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you'll pop back again soon :)

Bordering on Romance

Bordering on Romance was the stamp set we used at my Feminine Card class yesterday. It's new and from the Autumn Winter mini.  We made two cards and this was my favourite one - a little bit time consuming, but the end result was worth it, in my opinion.  I've cased it from Judy May who is a demonstrator from Melbourne in Australia. Pop over to look at her blog HERE to see more of her beautiful work.

Here's what you'll need to make today's card:

Petal Cone Takeout Box

While I was playing with my dies and Big Shot recently, I discovered that you can also alter your Petal Cone Bigz Die and trim it down to make a takeout box.  This is the perfect size (not too big and not too small) to fill with goodies. I followed the instructions by Julie Davison (she has many fabulous projects) but there are probably lots of other talented ladies out in blogland who you could get the instructions from.

And, here's the view from the top.

To make this project you'll need:

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Island Indigo
Designer Paper: Twitterpated (Autumn Winter mini catalogue)
Accessories: Big Shot, Petal Cone Bigz Die, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die, Fun Flowers Bigz Die, Fancy Flower Punch, 5 Petal Punch, Island Indigo Bakers Twine (Autumn Winter mini catalogue), In Colour Glimmer Brad.

I'd be delighted to order any of these items for you and can have them delivered to your address anywhere in New Zealand. I'm committed to providing excellent customer service and am always happy to offer help and advice.  To place your order, just email me here or call me on             (09) 416 7476

I've got a class planned for tomorrow afternoon with a group of lovely ladies, who I'm looking forward to catching up with.  What is your weekend shaping up to be like?  Whatever you do, I hope you have a goodie!  Catch you again soon x

Big Shot Projects

I had so much fun at my Big Shot classes, I held recently.  It was great to be able to show the ladies a few different ways of using their dies.

We made an extended Pillow Box which is the perfect size for a chocolate bar.  For the large butterfly, I finally cut into my sumptuous Mocha Morning Speciality paper.  This speciality paper pack is really lovely and this particular piece is flocked. Others in the pack have metallic ink and they're all very yummy and luxurious looking.

Here's what you need to make this project:

Stamp set: Perfect Punches
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Designer Paper: Mocha Morning Speciality Paper, Neutrals Paper Pack
Ink: Crumb Cake
Accessories: Pillow Box Die, Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die, Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die set, Extra Large Oval Punch, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals.

We also extended the Scallop Envelope die which in the new size, will fit a gift card inside. Here's the extended version with a belly band around it using the new Twitterpated designer paper.

What you need to make the extended Scallop Envelope:

Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Ridinghood Red, Blushing Bride
Designer Paper: Twitterpated (Autumn Winter mini catalogue)
Accessories: Scallop Envelope Die, Big Shot, 5 Petal Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Designer Printed Brads, Dimensionals.

For the last project {which is my favourite}, we made a cute little mini album with the Petite Pockets die which I've blogged before.  Click HERE for another look

Happy hump day everyone!
