Happy Wedding Day

I just thought I'd share a wedding card with you, that I made for a work colleague who was married yesterday. It's almost monochromatic because I've only used two colours - very vanilla and naturals ivory. It's a very plain and simple design and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Stamp set: Priceless, Occasional Quotes
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, Scallop Trim Border punch, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Embossing folder.

Purple Pizzazz!!

I've been out of circulation lately because my modem decided to go on strike. As I'm renting one from my provider (and am really glad I am, since it is only 6 months old) it wasn't a matter of just going out and buying another, but having to go through numerous checks to establish if it was the modem and not the lines, yadda, yadda, yadda... Finally, we received the new one yesterday so that perked me up, no end!   And, to top it  off - my darling daughter took time out from her history project to set it up for me, so that I could continue preparing for the classes I've got on this weekend.  What would I do without you Nicole?? xoxo

Anyway, back to the task at hand - recently, a girlfriend ask me if I would make her a card like one of my cards that was on my sample board, but in the colour purple.  I thought that she was going to give it to someone, but she clarified that she just wanted the card for herself because she loved the design, the Van Gogh message and purple is her favourite colour.  So, here's to you Vanita - I hope you like it!!

Springy Thing..

We had a lovely group of ladies join us yesterday for our second WOW PaperKRafters event in West Harbour. It was a very humid and sticky day but everyone lasted the distance and completed the four projects. I taught the Springy Thing (couldn't come up with a better name for it) and although it looked a bit daunting, everyone finished it within the time frame and did an awesome job. Well done ladies!! I can't remember how I came across the instructions to make it so unfortunately I can't give credit to the designer. I've made quite a few over the years embellishing it for different occasions. Here's a photo of what we made yesterday when it is closed.

And, here's what it looks like when you pull the opposite corners and open it up. It could be used for invitations or an occasion of your choice by changing the embellishments. The bone folder got a work out when making the nice crisp folds.... If you would like the instructions on how to make this, feel free to email ME

Another weekend is nearly over with.  Have a great week everyone.
